                         A Scary Short Story

It was dark and the fog was thick,

That night  at the haunted Elk Inn.

When a family had lost their way,

Then decided to stop and check in.

That summer night had a chill to the air.

As the father rang the lobby bell.

 Goosebumps travelled up mamas' arm,

When she drew in an awful smell.

They read a sign that said, "to take a key."

With an arrow pointing to the table.

One set of keys were left,

           Room thirteen was the lable.

The two boys held close to their sister,

The children all shivered in fright.

Then father said to follow him.

They must get some rest for the night.

They crept into the small, dark, smelly room.

          Their hearts began to pound.

When with a BANG! The door slammed shut!

And, That lost family was  never found.
