Time |
Just a Player
I am one, among many,
Who own your heart.
Your very soul scattered
Like pieces of a wayward jigsaw puzzle.
Your vows of true love,
Repeated, rehearsed,
Like so many a scripted play.
Only the audience is different
Each and every time.
There are days when,
I dream of being your leading lady.
The stars in your eyes always
Shining just for me.
But I know, deep in my soul,
The I will always be,
A player in the company of your heart.
Who own your heart.
Your very soul scattered
Like pieces of a wayward jigsaw puzzle.
Your vows of true love,
Repeated, rehearsed,
Like so many a scripted play.
Only the audience is different
Each and every time.
There are days when,
I dream of being your leading lady.
The stars in your eyes always
Shining just for me.
But I know, deep in my soul,
The I will always be,
A player in the company of your heart.
