why I wasn't good enough

I always used to wonder why i wasn't good enough for you.

I used to try to be someone i wasn't for you, I would try to be perfect, tried to be honest, tried to be stronger, even tried to be smarter.

I tried to be everything you ever wanted.

I would cry myself to sleep because i couldn't figure out who you wanted me to be....

I couldn't figure out why you didn't love me.

All i wanted was to be able to call you daddy, but all you are is a father, a sperm giver, somebody that shares my blood.

You have to do more than just share blood to be a dad.

Yea we have the same DNA, and yea i may have your eyes.

To bad you don't know if i have your eyes, because between the last time you saw me and now, you have probably gotten high so many times that you don't even know what i look like...let alone how old I am...

You always used to say i'll visit you next week

Well soon it gets old, and i finally realized that everything you say or have said needs to go in one ear and out the other

I finally realized that i was good enough for you........

You just weren't good enough for me.
