A Worthless Penny
I dedicate this poem to the girl who robbed me of my innocents. I thought you truly loved me in the month of June but your as worthless as the common penny. I hope you get your just desserts Andrea because karma comes around three fold.
A Worthless Penny
I found a penny on the ground
Walking home from the corner store
With edges smooth and figure round
It reminds me of that summer whore
So I flipped it once to test my luck
And saw it dance within the sun
Knowing things could turn amuck
Childish games are seldom won
Irritated, I turned away
Knowing it had already switched its face
On that corner is where it will stay
A penny like you has not a place
I wonder if that penny made it
Or if it got thrown into a well
I smiled when it rose a bit
But left it when it fell
