Lead Me O Thou
Lead me O thou have led me
From here to there and back
Prodding troubles ceaseless falls
My heart in reluctant ache
I thought hence I stood
Beside the gate, knocking upon the door
Only to find myself encased
Nearly falling breathless to the floor
Then hearing words sincere
My words were just as so
I could not take up the weight
My divided heart egging “no”
Thus I repeated the word
Where I was left feeling sorely sick
But thou led O thou leads me
Though my heart still feels the prick
There then I can’t return
To ignorance, now I’ve open eyes
My convicted soul stands true and firm
Yet still my mind wanders breathing rebel sighs
But lead me O thou that loves me
Of whom my heart belongs
Sing to me a persevering chord
And your grace in neverending songs
No comments yet, be the first to say something.
