Anything at All

Views (27) Love Created on 3-6-08 Flag
I saw you there, wandering the paths as I

I wondered if perhaps you saw me as well

Cause there is so much sameness between you and I

I wonder if you saw anything at all

The twinkling fairy lights of night

Lead me to this place in the dark

I see you here tonight

I’m wondering if you see anything at all

Fading back into the hidden places

Pondering what is underneath

Glancing towards those secret places

Seeing something or nothing at all

You’re stepping out with faint light of eyes

Getting closer, taking me by surprise

So familiar that gleam in your eyes

In which I see, that which shows it all

Awkwardness ebbing silent and slow

Walking no longer alone

Wariness lingers in the eyes fading slow

As we wonder if the other can see anything at all

Where are we to walk

This sameness so very completing

The road before us, no choice but to walk

Chancing something or nothing at all

Together without a map or direction

In sight of something unmasked and un-prohibited

To walk this road seeking destination or direction

Leaving us to wonder at it all

No kind of woes to confide us

Wandering forward, in this knowing

That this path is for us

Together through it all

So wandering hastens to a rest

Finding a place to lay the head

Finding a peace under a starry sky to rest

Looking up not seeing anything at all

Beside me rest the heart I lost

Given away at the right time and place

Beside whom I can’t really be lost

Cause beside me, I can see it all
