Every guy in my past has done me wrong

So I'm afraid when another comes along.

I see a bright sign posted with "caution".

Still my heart always seems to be auctioned.

I stumble over myself to fall for every new one.

Then the gaming starts, but I never find it fun.

Twisting and turning, hearts dizzy from the latter.

Emotions head over heels but not mind over matter.

Possible humiliation, impossible is the winning.

My heart gets broken from the very begininning.

Why do I keep giving my all when I know the end?

Why do I believe when I know it's all just pretend?

Because until this moment I always held hope high.

Hope for honesty, respect, and to simply make it by.

I don't know where I stand, I've suddenly lost my place.

I slowed and hastened the pace and still lost the race.

So I'm packing up and leaving with the rest of my pride.

I won't let you get to me anymore; access now denied.

Goodbye and good riddance to you and your tricks.

Before I give you my trust again, I'm out of here quick.
