Picture me
Before all of this

Imagine me
Dancing in the rain
Imperfect in all my splendor
Free from pain
One might even say “happy.”

Thunder keeping time
The rain pounding on metal rooftops
Soft mud beneath my feet

The tears of the world
Falling down around me

Most would find it sad
And somewhat pathetic
But not me
I think it’s refreshing
That the world still has emotions

Now I’m standing
In a light mist
Barely anything left
Of the world’s tears

Hail pounds down
All around me
As the world’s hate
Bruises my heart

I cry in pity
Because the only thing
Left of this once beautiful world
Is anger and hate.
