What is this feeling..
anxious urgency for nothingness?
a fleeting desire to sense anything?
a hollow, echoing, omnipresent cave?
maybe just a flash of subconsious afterthought?
NO!! it cuts deeper... churns more chaotically.
is it a lone chair in an empty room?
perhaps a silent playground, save for the shrill scream of a swing's rememberence?
could it be a cheerless victory over staggering odds?
a full moon painted into a starless blight?
WAIT!! A deep breath, a shudder, a wracking sob.. It's clear now.
it is a single stone kicked down a forgotten road.
an expanse of mirrors showing only myself.
a great chasm and no echo to call upon.
it has to be a emotionless remark to a heartfelt question.
Please!! tell me it is not true... I can't be... Alone

You certainly know how to throw words together. that speaks volumes. I know that feeling well. I've always wanted to write a poem depicting lonliness but i cant now after reading this...it wouldn't seem as original. I love it though. I feel the emotion. |
