Our Tomorrow |
Summertime
i see little girls on the swings
singing happy as could be
mothers with their children
and the fathers right there cookin
they all seem so happy
loved, that's the word
i turn around and see my mom
frustrated with the grill
my brothers fighting on the grass
my cousins drink their fill
my aunts and uncles all sit down
dominoes it is
grandma on my mother's back
my mother holds her tears
i look around and see the picture
of my life so far these years
if only daddy had been around
mom wouldn't be crying these tears
It's called summertime because that's just how i saw every summer since i was a kid. =]
