I am the dark god in your heart,
And you knew it right from the start,
You realize "this is no dream",
No, this is your nightmare, so you scream,
You cry for help and weep for days,
And you see it through the haze,
Your death is planned, your days are numbered,
So we killed you whilst you slumbered,
Welcome to hell, this is your new home,
A dreary place, dark and alone,
Here we laugh at death and spit in his face,
But he's done one good thing, you're in the right place,
I'm the devil that sits on your shoulder,
My words of evil to make your life colder,
So you wander lifeless through my realm,
I hope you enjoy your stay in hell,
Your existence doomed to eternal suffering and pain,
No action beneficial, there's nothing to gain,
I'm the angel inside of you,
I only tell you the right thing to do,
I saw you cry and heard your plea,
Your death, it seems, was meant to be,
I whisper, "Please love, don't cry,"
"Have some faith, pray not to die,"
"I'll be with you forever, as you sleep,"
"My love for you is ever so deep,"
So tonight you sleep but do not awaken,
I saw you dead and was shaken,
Is she really gone? What have I done?
Her death was in vain, it was all for fun,
The demons took her away in the night,
And now for her life, I must fight,
It is my duty to see fit she is okay,
I wouldn't have it any other way,
So I embrace the darkness, and call it my brother,
The shield that protects me, provides me cover,
Though my fear of the dark holds me back,
The courage to face it alone I lack,
I fear the time "we" spent together,
I do it for you, I would fight forever,
I wander deep into the bowels of hell,
I leave the shadows and from what I can tell,
This place of evil holds the one I love,
Perfection in solid form, an angel from up above,
So I enter the kingdom of the underworld,
And discovered how the master plan unfurled,
They killed her whilst she lay in bed,
Sleeping peacefully and now she's dead,
I shout her name again and again,
Only to be answered by the voice of "him",
The darkness told me she wasn't here,
That she had been consumed by wrath and fear,
I felt something crawl down my face, a tear,
This isn't what I came to hear,
"Where is she?" I screamed,
And then I woke up, it had all been dreamed,
I await my love's arrival at the usual place,
She keeps coming but I don't see her face,
Today she comes again and I sigh,
A horrible nightmare, I never want her to die.
