I'm constantly underfoot. My back bears the tread of many prints. It is I who am most sorrowed by the loss of another forest, or the pollution of another river. I bear many scars from eruptions and tremors. I'm all knowledgeable about history and it's making. I've been here through it all. The good and the bad. I've watched the changes in myself over the years, changes that I couldn't do anything about. I've taken abuse from many, my strength is almost depleted. If there were only more people who cared. Just a couple people who would trod lightly upon my weary back, I might just survive a little longer. Who am I you might ask......Only the World

KLA777 I had in the past only shared this with my mother, teacher and perhaps my high school writing class. I don't recall if my teacher had me read it to the class. She did at the time make a note in the margin "Lit Mag?" I don't recall following through on her suggestion though.
