There’s Always Next Time

Carving lies into my skin,

Telling you I will never quit,

Your screaming in my head so loud I’m bleeding,

I just close my eyes and pretend it’s alright.

Because there’s no way you’re finding a way out,

You’re trapped behind all your lies,

You’re trapped behind all my cries.

Why did my heart stop everytime you were around?

When you set me up for something never ment to last,

You said you needed something else, someone new,

But you didn’t know how much I needed you.

You held me close and looked  into my eyes,

Just to say your final goodbyes.

And even then you teased with a kiss,

Your lips were once my warmth,

But now they poison me like your words.

My heart whithers with pain,

Now that you’re gone,

I keep a box, with your name and our memories.

It’s sad I know,

It hurts more than I’d hoped,

Time probably won’t mend this ache,

I won’t drop my smile, not now, not ever.

I won’t be the same,

I won’t fall so easily next time,

There’s always next time.
