Searching the pages for something deep hidden with in

In different books, different words

Will I find him here?

Lost among this library

There is certainly one for me.

One could not leave this place without

Checking one out, just to see?

Will I find him here?

Am I the only one here today to find the right book?

I came early enough

Maybe the crowd has not yet arrived.

Will I find him here?

The doors are opened as I eager step

I walk into to see that it is not filled yet.

Yet.

I walk towards the shelf, hoping to find one good.

Will I find him here?

My path is blocked by the flock of others that have been waiting for the novel

I strain my neck to see

But I cannot.

I’m too short (and a lot of other things as well).

And their money is piled high above

They’re rich enough to buy the one I’ve been thinking off.

I wander towards the pile of old, reject books.

Will I find him here?

I search through the pages, bored at what I see.

Yet each one I pick up seems to be calling to me.

I set them down.

I can’t pick here.

There must be another shelf hidden from me.

I walk the deep long halls to another shelf.

Gazing at the binding for something to catch my eye

Will I find him here?

Still the crowd appears, right before my steps

Now all the books are gone
