After some days of thinking,
I've come to understand,
This craze thats come along,
Has spread across the land,

This website that I'm using,
To show off all my poems,
It makes some people happy,
And it leaves others 'lone.

I've really come to realize,
This isn't just your work,
Its about how popular you are,
And who you've never hurt.

These things that we have posted,
Have really helped some out,
But other things are just there,
To let our feelings shout.

These things that we have posted,
I wonder all day long,
Was it from the heart or was it,
Just another dreary song?

Do people do this cause its fun,
Or is it something else?
Do some do this, Instead of talking,
Alone just by themselves?

Feels like not just talent,
But popularity,
I feel like anyone can post,
Get many as you or me.

atmercedes WELL I think you have two types of people, you have the ones who ask others to "check out their stuff" because they want to get more votes, then you have the other people, (like myself) who are true to their work, and would just like to know if the work that came from every ounce of our heart and soul touches that person atall. Ive even had a person tell me that they were shocked that I didnt have more votes than I did, it doesnt bother me, Id rather have 2 people tell me that my work ment something to them, than have 30 people tell me "good job".. but thats just my opinion. ♥ Your a great poet by the way, your work is very true and also deep, your good with your words.

California1516 i agree..i mean ..im quite "popular" on this site..but even so..i did a lil experiement one day..and i submitted my artwork without telling anyone i put some up..and the next day i checked and i only had like 4 votes..and when i do tell people i have art up..i get like 15-25 votes..and my art is most of the time in the top art for the day ..and yes this site is about popularity and ive recently havent been telling a ton of people about my art..cuz i feel like if i tell them then i feel like they just vote for it cuz i told them to look at it..and i really dont think this site should be about how many votes you have..it should be about posting anything creative u have..and having people give you their opinions so you can do alot better..and i think when people come to look at ur stuff..they might have ideas that you may not have thought of..this site has its pros and cons..im glad u spoke out about ur opinion.and alot of people should read ur poem..

That is exactly right, its basically a big popularity contest you get to the point that you check the same persons stuff, kinda like i do to yours and even if you dont like it you vote anyways because you dont want them to be mad at you. but i truely think all your poems are good, and i will let you know if i dont like it. this is great! =)
