Is It Right |
I Should Have....
Graduation seemed like the beginning.
Saying our goodbyes with tears in our eyes.
Takin pictures so the memory will not fade.
Yes! We made it, we beat the odds.
Best friends for life was what we were.
Now, I find myself saying "I should have done this with you."
"I should have answered the phone when you called.
Tears once again fill my sad stricken eyes.
Reading the newspaper about how you died.
"Why couldn't you smell the smoke the engulfed your lungs?"
"Why didn't you wake up and run out the flamed filled house?"
Questions that will never be answered.
I find myself angry as I watch them lower your casket.
All I can remember is the last thing I said to youhours before the flames took you home.
"You are the greatest friend I've ever had."
Rest In Peace Daeshavon Powell, best friends forever!!
