Things I Want You To Know

I’m not sure what I’m going to write

Too many words that have no rhyme

A few cliché lines,

You’re the best, you’re number one

But I want something that hasn’t been done

Something that has yet to be chosen,

So here it goes

A couple of things I want you to know

You are the soft haze of a beautiful rainbow,

The warmth I need when the world gets too cold

Tender arms that caress and hold

A magnificent woman worth more then gold,

You are my strength when it gets too rough

You’re the reason I don’t want to give up

That voice in my head that makes me tough,

The wild flowers on a hot summer’s day

The sweet aroma of horses and hay

And every song we ever sang,

You’re someone I admire, loving and strong

The ocean’s glorious song

An eternal love that will never go wrong,

The color of a sunset as it paints the sky

Gentle fingers that wipe the tears as I cry

My one constant when things go awry,

The beauty of a shooting star

My mom, my best friend is what you are

My soft melody on your guitar

I’m not sure what I’m going to write

So many words and not enough time

You are the best, you are number one

I think I’ve said some things that haven’t been done

There is, however, one more thing you need to know

You are the moon’s peaceful glow

I love you mom! You are everything to me
