The pain inside 

The pain inside

Is overflowing

Hurting now

My pain is showing 

I miss being with him

So close yet so far

But it was me who said

*Let’s raise to bar* 

I went for older

He went for same

But when we found no one

We played a game 

I’d flirt with him

& he’d flirt back

Until I realized

It was him I lack 

But by that time

It was too late

He had found someone

& started to date 

Now I’m here

With the pain inside

My tears are showing

No longer wanting to hide
