I Remember
I remember when I was born
I was so lucky to live
Not ever understanding
Of how much you had to give.
You took care of me throughout memories we had
Through all types of situations
Through the good ones and the bad.
I remember all the places we went
You trusted me when I needed your encouragement.
I never quite understood
Of how much you really mean to me
But that's when I was young
And I am now seventeen.
I understand that your my mother
And there's no one else quite like you
Nobody could ever match
All the things you helped me through.
No one else has known me
Quite as long as you have
Because if it weren't for you
I never would have been alive.
I thank you for being my mother
I thank you for being my friend
Because no matter where we part to
We'll wind up together in the very end.
I remember you taking great care of me
I remember you always being there
I thank you for giving life to me
I thank you because I care!
