Mother, Remember Me?

Hello Mother,

Im writing to tell you that Im okay
That Ive been doing alright since you sent me away
My room here is alright, A little cramped but swell
How have you been doing since we said farewell?
They don't think Im crazy here, Im understood
They've lowered my medication since Ive been doing good
Everyday theres clean sheets and pillows on my bed
And during free time I couldn't tell you how much Ive written and read
I cant go outside or watch as much TV as i used to
Even though it's not that bad here I cant wait til its through
A bit more time and I'll be legal
I'll be free to go,  I'll fly out the door like an eagle
Its been so long since we've spoken,
Since Ive been in this place
This is the last time I'll bother you again,
I'll leave your life for good and leave no trace
Ive always just wanted to know,
Do I ever cross your mind?
Do you miss me?
You're all I think about,
and mostly when i go to sleep and dream youre all I see
Well, I just wanted to write you to let you know Im ok
And that Ive been doing alright since you've sent me away
A little letter to hopefully ease your mind
And maybe ,for me, you'll find
The love that you once had inside
