Hold your head up girl

Put a smile on

You’re living a lie

Just play along

Everyone’s fake

So just join the crowd

Your parents would be so proud

Get sucked in

It's the cool thing

Let them break you in

It shouldn't sting

Pretend nothings wrong

This is the hardest act in the play called Life

But be the best actress your under spot light

Don't say you’re hurt

You'll be treated like dirt

Don't show your real emotion

Use lies as your motivation

Program yourself, be robotic

Make everything real feel sick

Do all this just to fit in

Go out just to flaunt your fake skin

And now that you’re a part of society

You ruined everything you dreamed you could be

Though I guess you could be proud of where you stand

Now you can really be called an American

I played that chameleon game, trying to blend in to others expectations for years. I lost myself in doing so. Not anymore. What you see is what you get. Like it, or lump it! lol
