How do I feel?

Wouldn’t you like to know?

My heart is still beating,

But it feels like a black hole.

I stopped caring a while back,

But never shall it show.

Aren’t I a good actress though?

I’m a painter painting a lie,

And a dreamer waiting to die.

I am a daughter trying to survive,

And a sister trying not to lie.

A mime that wants to be noticed,

And a clock wasting my time.

There’s nothing people can say to make me want to stay behind.

I am a lost puppy looking for away home,

And a student trying to learn.

A model trying to be perfect,

And a runner who always fails.

A mirror trying to reflect,

And a color trying to change.

Never will anyone know.

I am rain that always cries,

And a dark cloud that just wonders around.

A teacher that cares,

And a driver trying to be there.

A lawyer that talks way too much,

And a firefighter trying to be brave.

A baker trying to make something beautiful.

I just can’t let all this show.

I am a mask hiding a face,

And an item in the wrong place.

A book that’s left unread,

And a bed that’s made out of thread.

I’m like a smoker trying to quit,

And a stylist making something unique.

This is all who I am.

A pencil being used,

And an 8-Ball that never knows.

I am the ocean that’s so calm,

But also the thunder that makes a lot of noise.

A spark of fire that dims,

And a hair band trying to hold it all in.

I am a piece of paper people just throw away,

And a tree standing in a desert.

All these things about me.

Yet, all I want to do is change.
