Let her go, just walk away

Today's no different than yesterday

She's a little wiser, a little taller

You think back to when she was smaller

Just a wiggling miracle in your arms

You watched her every moment

Protecting her from harm

Her eyes glowed with wonder at every new sight

Even then she was intelligent, curious and bright

Her hands are not so tiny now as they let go of yours

She walking up those steps, pausing at the doors

Baby is all grown up now, starting to go to school

She blows you one last kiss and you feel like a fool

As the tears start to fall but you don't let her see you cry

You just smile and kiss back as though your eyes were dry

She turns and walks and the school takes her in

She's a big girl now, growing up begins.
