Little child to Smoking mother –

“Hey, mom.”

“Yes Emily?”

“What is that black stuff on your lungs?”

“Oh it’s just the rotten smoke off of my cigarettes why?”

“Because I don’t think it looks to pretty.”
“Well, in my eyes it feels pretty good.”

“But Momma, I learned in school smoking isn’t good for you.”

“Don’t listen to them honey. Smoking isn’t all that bad as you think.”
“Really?”

“Yea! It’s ok, as long as you don’t smoke a lot.”

“Hum, ok.”

(The little girl walks away from her cruel mother.)

The next day, Emily’s mother goes to work, and has Emily a babysitter to watch her.

Emily was playing with her toys, then she tells her babysitter “I’m going to get some candies from my mothers purse ok?”
“Ok honey.”

The Babysitter goes back talking on the phone.

Little Emily walks up to the kitchen table and takes a cigarette from her mothers purse”

“My mom says its ok. I want to see to if it “feels good”.”

Once she grabbed the lighter out of the pocket of her purse, she lights it up.

Cough, cough, and cough! Little Emily cries.

She catches her breath and goes back into the living room with the babysitter.

“Mommies candies are too old now. Yuck!”

Little Emily goes back to playing with her Barbie and Ken play set.

Little coughs by every minute.

The babysitter, Sarah, gets worried about her coughing, and calls her mother to come home.

“Teresa, I think you should come home, I think Emily might have a fever.”

When the mother arrives home and lets Sarah leave, she sits down on the couch and checks Emily’s temperature.

“101 degrees! You have a fever. Let’s get you to bed!”

While putting her into bed. Her mother decides to sit in the room with her.

Later, mom decides to have a smoke.

More rapidly Emily coughs.

Mother gets her a glass of water. It soothes it for a while.

Emily is starting to get extremely cold and clammy, her mother finally decides to take her to the emergency room.

On the way, she decides to relieve the stress off her mind, she has another cigarette.

Oh, but that’s not to smart.

When Emily arrives to the emergency room. Her mother sits beside her in the waiting chair for her to wake up.

She goes to pull out a cigarette, and the nurse slaps it out of her hands.

“Don’t you see the sign? It says no smoking!”

The nurse looks away and goes back to working on Emily.

After scans, the doctor arrives with news.

“Teresa, I’m sorry to ask, but, do you suppose she has had an accident with poison or anything lately?”

“No I don’t think, at least scene I was with her. That was this morning.”
Teresa says frightened.

“Well, because, we found a certain bud of a cigarette in her stomach that is causing her cancer in her left side of her body.”

“WHAT!?”

Teresa screams.

“I just gave her a lecture about them the other day! Well, I did say that they weren’t that bad, and I …..Also…..said…..oh no! I said they make me feel good!”

The doctor shakes his head in disappointment and sits down beside Teresa. Stares her in the face, worries and all.

The doctor says………….

“Well, Teresa? How dose it feel to be the one to kill your own daughter?”

Teresa passes out in shock.

(Later on in life, Emily dies at the age of 6 years. And her mother dies of a broken heart in a coma.)
