together we lie

they told her she couldn't see me

they said it was wrong

they wouldn't let her use the phone

they kept her locked up

there was no way for me to see her

but i never let go

still we started writing

i changed my name to see her

it was all i could do

we would write everyday

every time i got a chance

i'd write her a little letter

we went to different school

making it hard to talk

but we tried anyways

finally i saved enough money

and bought a car

i drove to go see her

quickly we ran away

and i held her in my arms

kissing her lightly

we went to see a movie

then i brought her home

my dad didn't mind

he knew what i was doing

and he thought it was good

he knew we were in love

so we went and lay down

the t.v. on us watching some random shows

i stroke her hair

we both wish this moment could last

and never die

and there forever we could lie
