The American Flag |
Pressure
Pressure
To do everything right when you can’t yourself
Smothering me with all your questions
Of what to do, and why you
Get over it, move on
It wasn’t that problematic.
Pressure
To say the right words
Even when I don’t believe in them
Quit asking me for help
I can barely help myself anymore.
Pressure
To keep strong, when you just break
You’re killing me under it all
Forcing fake smiles and laughs on me
When all I want to do is scream
To lash out at the world.
So much pressure
To try and make everything seem fine
When my world is crashing down
Just keep your problems to yourself
I have my own to sort out
Keep your nightmares
Because mine are darker
Than yours ever will be.
Too much pressure
I can’t take it anymore
Why don’t you just think
For once
About someone else
I’m not here to wait on you hand and foot
Who the hell do you think you are
To tell me what to do
You may call it ‘Tough Love’
But I call it bitchiness
You’re pathetic
A real piece of slime
Pick up the pieces of your own heart
I have my own to fix
So back off
Keep your ‘Tough Love’ to yourself
I won’t take it anymore
You lost me, I didn’t lose you.
So suck it up
Move on, and get a life
Because I don’t need you anymore…
