My Once Superman

I could have never seen,

That you’d never make it this far,

This long, yet you had so much going on

I guess you just couldn’t hold on for that long.

I could hear your cries, there was no disguise

In your eyes, the pain shown right through

As if you didn’t have a clue, yet you knew

You knew all the way through

That it wouldn’t go on for much longer.

Your body slowly breaking down,

Your strength no were to be found

Yet you keep up right, not wanting to lose the fight

Each day your eyes lose their gaze

Only wanting to fade away from

The sight of this room, this world.

The blue ocean that once in them,

Now only just a simple muddy pound

Your eyes holding no more pride.

Your arms that once held your

Little girl so high and tight

Just dangle at your side

As the little girls hero starts to fade

From the light of her life.

To think that you were once

The bull, the captain of the team

The head dog of the pack, now sitting

On the sidelines, not having the strength

To go on.

As slowly the Ripper moves in

To your sight, sucking out your life.

Everyone is holding on tightly,

Just like trying to hold onto a grain of sand

As you finally slip into a Oblivion,

Leaving the rest of us behind

Knowing that you’ll look after us,

Yet knowing it’ll never be the same

For I have just lost my Superman

( This poem was writin for a friend of mine that passed away from Cancer, he was like a second dad to me and this poem was the least I could do for him)
