It's so hard these days to think of the positive things
when all the praise goes to pain even though it stings
and teens learn early to choose booze and we all lose
this makes me sick, kids drowning in the hard brews
can we blame my generation, though, through the
shame of the many names i know now that cover the pain,
won't let it show 'cuz they're afraid daddy is gonna
beat them with a cane and there's no sun, only rain
as they watch momma shoot daddy with a gun
and seconds later whisper "everything's ok now, hun."
this is the crap i see as i write on and on wishing
that we could kiss this world be gone- you know I'm
glad that i dont have a sister to show, after
watching her grow just to see her getting pimped on
at thirteen by a twenty year old sicko and why not,
that's how my story goes. people wanna wonder what's
wrong with the world not even thinking about their own
little girl who sticks her finger down her throat for kicks,
not really, she makes herself sick 'cuz she cant stand
her own reflection- guys pointing her in the wrong direction
seems silly to listen to them, but i'm not bluffing, if you
can't get a man then you must be nothing. Maybe if some
people would pray or have something to say but no
we sit around when we find out our neighbor is gay
and have you noticed the increase in our suicide rate?
society breeds the hate that makes a guy slit his wrist
because no on seems to give a piss and his pa is wondering
what he missed- only every event in his life- that's what
drove him to whip out the knife to bleed- the apple doesn't
fall far from the tree, now to the end i arrive and my
last comment is this, "thank God I'm alive." Irony see?

This is SO true...kinda what I wrote in my poem. We don't do anything, yet we blame everyone else for what's going wrong..why don't we do something? It's our own fault. |
