this satin fabric fades into her skin
beautiful ivory, color of innocence
she can remember when it was given away
feels like it was yesterday
and her reflection stares back in agreement

this moment feels like perfection
time to forget those past regrets
her dad is going to give her away
it seems like just yesterday
that she came into this world, a little girl
