Silver box

Views (103) Joy Created on 7-9-07 Flag

Lost in myself one evening

Wandering what I would do

It seemed I'd lost all hope, I needed to start anew

Searching for a way out

A way to rid it all

I saw the gleam of the purest silver

Insignificant and small

I paid no attention, to busy for silly little games

When on top of the box, there appeared a name

No, not a name, but a simple little word

Three simple letters, yet I knew not what they were

Joy is a thing of the past, I told myself

Not meant for me at all

Oh, but my curiousity got the best of me

I must give it a try

I'd tried it all, nothing seemed to work

Pretending was a full time job

For happiness had gone afar

Joy seemingly another world

While lifting the weghtless top

I thought to myself how absurd

This couldn't fix all my problems

For a cure, I had not heard

Oh, but when there was no lid

I realized how simple it had been

It could not be found in a bottle

Or in the places I had been

For in this silver little box

Was a picture of my best friends
