Becoming
As I sit in the silence
As I ponder my life
Thoughts overcome
Fears overwhelm
In the stillness of the night
What I once was
What I’ve now become
Shattered and torn
I’m temporarily fixed
By staples and thorns
Questions to be answered
Problems to be solved
Constantly changing
Never retracting its claws
Just waiting for its call
No remedies
No miracle cures
Just realization
This is who I am
And that’s all there ever was
