The Middle of the Hallway
I imagine myself screaming
In the middle of the hallway
No one would even notice
They would just continue on their way
Screaming my pain, my anger, my emptiness
It wouldn’t make a sound
I imagine myself kissing him
In the middle of the hallway
He wouldn’t even notice
He would just continue on his way
Expressing my love, my devotion, my longing
It wouldn’t make him feel a thing
I imagine myself telling her how I feel
In the middle of the hallway
She wouldn’t even pretend to notice
She would just continue on her way
Expressing my hate, my apathy, my detestation
It wouldn’t make a difference
I imagine myself dancing
In the middle of the hallway
No one would even notice
They would just continue on their way
Expressing my joy, my freedom, my soul
It would just be me
