River Eyes
Jealousy burns the walls of my veins
Running its course as a river does.
Unchanging, endless flow of guilt
Pushing, pushing me towards an end.
Will I ever get over it, Will I ever understand?
I'm not tough, I'm not strong enough.
Jealousy. Such an awful, bitter tasting word
Rolling off my back, into the crevices of my skin.
I can't take this resentment any longer.
It's sinking into my being. Oh, I hate this emotion.
I want it out of my system, back into the stream of life.
