As I Lay Dead |
No Longer Alone.
As I slowly succumb to the arms of death
A hand gently rubs my shoulder
The taste of a childhood long past fills my mouth, leaving the cool aroma of fruit punch and candy.
Grass gently rubs my palms as I'm carried through a feild of sunshine and midmorning dew.
The tounges of a million harps call out my name as I close my eyes and see the departed members of those I loved. Those who have passed before me. Those who I've cried for. Those who have remained a picture in my mind for as long as they have been away from me.
A Voice embraces my ear. A soft, heavenly voice that I recognize from childhood. It says to me "Time to come home"
Another unfamiliar voice calls out faintly "We're Losing Him!"
A long tone is heard.
Silence overcomes me.
I am home. Safe. No longer alone.
