Summer Dream

On a late summer's day, on an August afternoon,

I fell in love with a girl, and tried all day just to swoon.

She spoke like an angel, and moved like swan,

but as soon as she came, like that! she was gone.

I looked and I looked for my Summer Love's face,

for her sweet loving tone and her eye-catching grace.

Her voice haunted the wood though I looked all for naught,

for when I found all was empty I was surely destraught.

Sometimes I think She was just a vision, a hoax,

though I swear ther could ne'r be such jokes.

I tried and I tried to bring Her back, all in vain,

for now I feel no love, I feel nothing but pain.
