Lost Innocent
Lost InnocenceA Childs mind is full of space,Just waiting to be filled,With all the beauty, love and graceOf a world that is unchilled,Such innocence in his small lips,How could this world destroy? His chubby hands fly to his hips,As he glares at his soldier toy,You’ll see a flicker behind his eyes,Of fire and of pain,But he cocks his head, denies it,And continues with his game,Lets slip ahead now through the years, To a muddy pit of gore,He lies there panting with his peers,Remembering his life before,The wound he bears as a medal of gold,He’d take another no matter the cost,And never would his heart be told,That his innocence was lost.
