From last nights undisturbed slumber I slowly start to wake.
Blissful dreams quickly dispelled by the unforgiving daybreak.
I peek out afraid the disappointment will be too much to take.
Reluctantly I shake off the remnants of my sweet delusion.
I search for you, trying to sort out the debilitating confusion.
Crying, when I discover that you were just another illusion.
A curse of my insecurity, your remains have become a blight.
A ghostly memory that seems to taunt me till the end of the night.
Yet I’m addicted to this replica and beginning to loath the light.
It’s the only memento I have to remember what has gone away.
So I’ll do anything to feel it again even if it means avoiding day.
But every morning I secretly wish inside that you would stay.
