Darkest Before Dawn

For decades it seems I've endured this night

Holding out for early morning's rejuvinating light

Oscillated, I wait and persevere for the day

Knowing only I can make my problems go away

My vision is starting to clear, im no longer blind

Soon I'll be free from the prisons of heart and mind

I can already see the first glimmers of sunshine

But I dare not cross daybreak's border line

The war against myself is still far from won

I cannot cross the threshold till the deed is done

The battle will not last forever. someday I will win

The dawn will come and drive away the dark's kin
