You opened my eyes
so long ago.
Showed me where all
exactly the same.

Equal just opposite,
you used to say.
But then came a parting
of our way.
A fork in our road.
I took the path of trust,
you went the other way.
But all thats in the past.
Nothing more then
memories of yesterday.

Now without you,
my aura of
hope and purification,
my heart yields to hate.
Wounds and a scar
self-inflicted.
Contempt for all creatures
near and far.

You kept it out,
helped me heal.
Now without you
it penetrates
to the core too deep,
for me to reach
the taint inside.

Now without you,
I rot and decay,
more and more
by the day.
But you just watch
while I waste away.
