Eternal Companion

Views (15) Love Created on 7-14-08 Flag

Against the coldest of surfaces and framed with despair,

He stares up at me as I gaze on his useless features,

Nothing is said to reside within the border drawn,

A case of walls one cannot touch yet inescapably must feel,

Yet I hold the key…

Where in I might set him free unto my arms,

Allowing a chance to get to know him better,

Taking his essence unto myself to learn of his aches,

And share with him my own…

The blackness within my spirit gives fuels to my kinship,

Making him seem like the only one with answers,

To know the truth is staring you in the face,

Is an unjust torture of the foulest sort,

Which one must endure when you are like me,

No wisdom is found in easy resolutions…

Yet there I must stand,

Eye to eye with him,

Knowing he speaks volumes,

And cursing my inept ears,

I feel the gaze he places upon me,

And it is one I tend to return,

Knowing that he has been there all along,

My only true friend,

And even if a friend he is not,

From the brightest day to the darkest night,

He will not abandon me,

As far as my fractured mind is concerned,

That is friendship enough…
