Questionmark...
Questionmark…
Would you not wonder at times the reason,
For what you do or how you seem,
“Questionmark.”
Have you not taken within thy soul,
A tassel or two,
Wash down with drink intoxicating,
“Questionmark.”
Would you refuse a hand,
When you lie on your face,
And cannot summon the strength to stand alone,
“Questionmark.”
When it boils down to the bone,
And the heart is all that remains,
Within the fine broth,
That you aged away to prepare,
If it was spit in your face,
Would you not hurt,
“Questionmark.”
If time itself began to hold fast,
And refused to move despite seasons,
Winters springs, summers and falls,
Not budging an inch,
And immortality stood on your stoop,
Asking for merry a meal,
Or a night out of the night,
Would you comply,
“Questionmark.”
Time stands before you,
A battle long toiled,
Blade in hand,
And he at your feet,
Upon his knees,
Begging for absolution,
His blade cast aside,
Fractured and useless,
No longer a fight in him,
Only the will to die,
His offer is clear,
The price is the prize,
And time was your foe,
Age was his shield,
And sickness his weapon,
The battle was hard and you nearly lost,
Yet only by the hairs did you survive,
Seeking not the fame,
Not the glory nor the prize,
You fought from fear like everyone else,
Yet unlike them, you won,
And now you are better, Wiser,
Stronger for the fights ahead,
Yet now the prize is the price,
So weigh it over in your mind,
Would you take his life,
The life of time,
To drink his nectar and live forever,
If you could,
…
“Questionmark.”
Seek not the reason or ask for meaning,
For it’s purpose is to satisfy,
But what is satisfaction if it only fills your mouth and ears,
“Questionmark.”
If complacent soul resides within,
Take not a measure of aptitude,
Contemplate your usefulness,
Or list to make waves sculpt the earth,
There be no shame in such endeavors,
But seeking fame is a failing,
Ask the men who’s names you know,
Those in the books whom lived in days long passed,
They new little fame in life,
And struggled to get by like the rest,
Only in death can immortality be found,
And living immortality is a treasured curse beyond compare,
A burden of the mind, heart and soul,
Where you can watch those you love,
Die slowly around you,
With all this said,
Would you still take the life,
Make ends to means,
And take agelessness for thyself,
Would you,
“Questionmark”

Every coin has it's benefiets aswell as it's disadvantages.I don't think immortality is for me thank you, but then sometimes time seems to last forever and some things are gone in an instant. Things are not always as they seem at a glance. Well prsented , my only crit is really long. Brilliant though. |

Honestly, I'm not quite sure what to make of this...It's definitely thought provoking... |
