Vacancy
Pursuit is such a tasking thing to serve,
The mind and body wrack with shyness plain,
Courage rarely found amongst racked nerve,
Affection needed to avoid complaint.
Love tears down the walls so desperately,
most long so dear for three small words to hear,
If heard, one will feel the sweet ecstasy,
And cast prayer in hope these words sincere.
And arm in arm peruse with prize in tow,
Know not of prize's waning dedication,
See not the eyes that wander to and fro,
Till arm is vacant know their abrogation,
Masochism in cogent phantasm,
The pain of heart break is sweet orgasm.

Sonnets are usually pretty challenging, and difficult for people to actually interpret the way it was originally intended, but I think you did it splendidly! Well done! |

This is brilliant and I do agree why do we risk all when we know what the outcome will most probably be or is it that taking pleasure in a moment of time is better than a lifetime of solitude.Brilliantly written . |

This is the first of three sonnets i wrote for my high school english class... first off it's a Shakespearan sonnet... secondly the theme is that people enter the cycle of love KNOWING they are VERY likely to be hurt deeply... hence it makes a stretch to compare heartbreak to an orgasm... claiming that we must enjoy the pain or something or why would we do it??? this is nothing short of bold sarcasm. |
