For my past will haunt you
I couldn't hold on
I couldn't keep going
Chasing the dream hidden in the darkest surrounding your soul
While you tortured me with false promises
Edible kisses
Memorable touches
Forgive me my love
I couldn't hold on
I couldn't stop the nightmares
That hid in the shadows of my mind
Shadows deepened by the darkness of the sky
And the lies you continued to say
My mind screaming for escape
Please forgive me my love
For I have left you to bare this alone
I can't help you now
Just as you couldn't help yourself then
Beware the shadows my love
Because they come for you
Just as they once came for me the night you left me

Ahh, this is SOOO good!! I think it is my favorite of your poems. It kinda has a dark side to it thats intoxicating. It's sorta lyrical too, like it could be a song. I totally love it! |
