Louder than any spoken sound
My pleas struggle behind lips
That refuse to come unbound
I know just how to break you
Yet instead I’ve bended to your will
Nothing ever satisfies you
Seems like you can never get your fill
All I want do is love you
Why does it have to be this way?
Why do I hurt myself to save you?
Why are you begging me to stay?
You know this can’t go on forever
Just as night breaks to the day
I can’t continue in this darkness
With only my dreams of yesterday
We both know there’s nothing left
Yet you refuse to set me free
But my eyes are finally open
To what my heart refused to see
All I want do is love you
Why does it have to be this way?
Why do I hurt myself to save you?
Why are you begging me to stay?
These questions left unanswered
To this heart that cannot understand
Why it all just can’t be different
And its dream could not withstand
When all I wanted was to love you
