Slipping Away from Time

Your touch surrounds me in this darkness

The light guides me though these fears

Echoed shadows through the silence

Your words somehow have stilled my tears

I lay before you stripped and broken

A soul with wounds that long to heal

Just to voice these dreams unspoken

And sing the songs of how I feel

As time begins to whisper past me

I wonder can you find the truth

That hides beneath the woman the eye sees

This girl that never felt her youth

The weight of these sands fall down upon me

Burying me below their salty grains

In the self made hourglass of melancholy

Each particle is a mark of losses gained

With arms outstretched you offer comfort

But can an embrace make scars just slip away?

From this past a true escape of some sort

Where midnight’s tears vanish into the day

As time begins to whisper past me

I wonder can you find the truth

That hides beneath the woman the eye sees

This girl that never felt her youth

ausjo WOW. I so know what you feel here. Sometimes the loss of the past is just so hard to get past despite comfort shown in the present and you can't help but wonder if today is becoming another yesterday you will feel the scars of.

goodgurl8504 This is just proof that we really are twins... Somehow, someway, we were supposed to be twins, I'm pretty sure! haha! But yeah, I know the feeling all too well! Another brilliant poem!
