Suicide

As the razor traces my skin
A red valley forms.
And red roses bloom along its ridge.
I giggle,
As it oozes red innocence
And drips away like a forgotten memory.
The water patters playfully at my face
As my life goes down the drain.
A perfect contrast.
I reach for a towel,
scattering redness like raindrops.
An understatement;
Gushing redness like an ocean.
Yes, like an ocean.
It's deep.
Too deep.
Grand Canyon eat your heart out.
I have.
A scarlet regret for most,
A scarlet satisfaction for me.
As blackness wins over the spreading crimson,
I hear a scream.
Not my own.
I smile, noticed at last.

amptone Suicide is tricky and it's all the rage now. Great poem, but suicide is also a serious reality that people deal with on a daily basis. Well written.
