If I were a butterfly…
25/10/07
If I were a butterfly, I’d soar over fields unknown.
I’d float on balmy autumn winds and rise in summer storms.
If I were a butterfly, I would settle upon the most delicate flowers
…and bask in the blatant beauty of my abode.
I would drink the scent and nectar of the flowers
…and appreciate the air.
A winter breeze could freeze me, but the sun would warm my wings.
And as autumn leaves drifted gently to the ground,
I would feverishly flutter to evade the entourage of children
…all eager to seize my wings.
If I were a butterfly, I’d explore the vastness of the open sky and glide above the seas.
If I were a butterfly, I’d soar over fields unknown.
