Fear for life

Death arises

As the sun sets

You walk alone in the empty streets

Fearing what lies ahead

Your scared, you tremble

your mind starts to wonder

becoming paranoid

Creating things that aren't there

Rustles and bustle

as the wind howls

Moon lit paths gleams

as your shadow befalls it

But your shadow isn't the only one there

a lingering scent

attaches its self

to the air

Your heart races

faster and faster

A touch on the shoulder

you shudder and scream

Then a deep voice

smiles and says

"Don't say a word"

and your face says it all

Your body freezes

and your speech turns to dust

As he beats you close to death

and leaves you to rot

You lay there

on the meaning less ground

fearing for your life

nothing there, only the wind making a sound

                    Will you ever be free from that fear

                                           Will you ever be found
