Tears Destroy Life

Her tears should be streaming down her innocent face

     But instead, they distort her deep, dark green eyes

           Always threatening her life by showing weaknesses

No one will ever be allowed the privilege of seeing one drip from those swollen red eyelids

                            Because she refuses to be broken

Always showing strengths

Never showing evidence of being torn internally

Insides may shatter

         As outside is admired

When insides shatter,

        Thighs are ripped and torn into

Looking forward to keep moving

Because looking back would only hold her in with the crowd

Everyday growing darker

             Eyes growing dense with unwanted knowledge

While these tears will always threaten her life
