My Poems
That's Not How We Do Things
Assimilate my metaphors
metallicize my similies;
twist my words
and make me feel alone.
Lightning eyes
Shadow cries
wispy breath
clingy death
Like me, love me, lose me, hate me
take me, turn me, tear me, break me
System crash; reset me, please?
My hard drive is sparky
and you're such a tease
responses are snarky
but my lips start to freeze
Tear up my papers
I'm screaming inside
pull up my covers
smother my pride
Dripping with envy
I'm not jealous at all
Joining the frenzy
pressed up to the wall
Bluish and silver and calling for help
you're thinking I need you for more than I do
Nothing can force me to think your way
I want to drift back to my own oblivion
Distill me like water and toss me a line
I'm pulling away when you start to whine
Nothing can faze me, I'm just running scared
This time for sure, I will be prepared.
